Job description

Our client is a large company who builds highly advanced robots and automated machines for the global market. They have a well set-up workshop with a range of CNC and manual machines.

In this role, you will be leading a team of skilled tradesmen and engineers to complete bespoke projects from start to finish. This is a varied role where you will take part in mix of planning of workflow, material, reviewing of design and quality, as well as working on the shop floor alongside your team.

To be successful, you will need to have extensive hands-on bespoke manufacturing experience and able to machine to tight tolerances using both CNC and manual machines. You will need to be familiar with different manufacturing methodologies and materials.

This is a dream job for any engineers who want to build exciting and interesting things whilst working alongside a team of technically minded people. We are seeking candidates from a precision engineering background - those who have only worked in a welding/ fabrication shop will not be suitable unfortunately.

In summary, the requirements for this role are,

* Extensive hands-on experience in mechanical/ precision engineering, including CNC, turning, toolmaking, fitting or similar
* Team leading and coaching experience
* Good technical proficiency and able to work with the design team
* Experience in project planning and management is ideal
* Good problem solver and able to think outside the box
