Job description

This is an exciting opportunity for a Junior Accountant to join an organisation where you will be responsible for providing support and assistance to the Director with particular emphasis on maintaining client accounting records and ensuring the completeness and accuracy to enable the timely preparation of financial statements. My client is a well-established Trust Company with a presence here in the Bay of Plenty.

You will be working in a clean and fresh office environment that is based in the picturesque Western Bay of Plenty – ideal if you want to relocate to a stunning location.

The ideal candidate will be qualified in accounting or working towards their qualification. You will have experience working in a client accounting environment and will preferably have knowledge and experience of standard trust accounting principles.

You will be a self-starter with strong Microsoft Office skills in Word, Excel and Outlook.

Duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Assist with the monitoring and control of on-boarding of clients by assisting the compliance officer with the collection and reconciliation of customer due diligence.

Posting client accounting entries from source documentation, including bank statements, remittance advices, payment instructions, contract notes, transaction advices and other prime documentation as provided for an allocated portfolio of clients.

Reconcile bank account balances, statements and investment holdings as recorded in the portfolio ledgers to monthly/quarterly/annual portfolio valuations.

Prepare on a timely basis financial statements for an allocated portfolio of clients.


PLEASE NOTE: This is a Part-time position - 15 hours per week.
