Job description

Are you a school leaver or someone with an interest in things electronic or electrical and are looking for a career in servicing, installing and repairing commercial or domestic electronic equipment?

Our client, a 100% owned and operated Southland company, would like to train a person in this area who has a can do attitude and is prepared to learn. You will learn by being taught on the job, taking responsibility for your work and at the same time draw on the vast depth of knowledge and experience passed on from your fellow colleagues.

Your office will be outside in the wider Southland rural and urban area and in the local workshop.

There is varied role with no two days the same.

To be successful in this role you should have the following attributes:

  • Good written and oral communicator
  • Can follow instructions
  • Has an enquiring mind
  • Gets on with others and able to work in a small team
  • Restricted Drivers Licence as a minimum.
  • Have some ability with screw drivers, pliers and other hand tools
  • An interest in electronics and or basic electrical understanding
  • Enthusiasm and motivation
  • Pass a Pre-Employment drug test
  • Physically fit and able
  • Not scared of heights or small spaces and not afraid of getting dirty.
  • Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
