The Company

Grove Mitre 10 is a respected merchant supplier of building products and services with three branches across Auckland and a network of fellow Mitre 10 members up and down the country. The management team consist of industry gurus who have strong personal brand reputation. Through their networks, in depth industry knowledge and an existing loyal customer base they have successfully grown the trade segment with plans to continue this growth record. Their customer base is a mixed bag, it varies across residential and commercial clients, from residential renovations, larger residential subdivisions, multi residential, landscaping, and larger commercial builds encompassing carpentry, concrete, steel, roofs and joinery.

After the exit of a long serving staff member, they are now looking to recruit a talented person that will continue to ensure sales and profitability of the business is achieved.

The Role

Reporting to the General Manager of Trade Sales and working with account managers and directly with customers your key focus will be:

  • Assisting Account managers with generating profitable business
  • Providing expert advice in collating take offs and projects quotes across residential and commercial clients and/or engaging take offs with external parties where required
  • Managing customer pricing matrices
  • Customer servicing, relationship building, being proactive with customers and ensuring a seamless service
  • Ensuring the administrative and timeliness of tendering
  • Reporting on trade targets and performance
  • Assisting in company events and promotions

Your Background

The ideal background for this role will require industry knowledge.  Being able to demonstrate your knowledge of competitors, suppliers and other key players in the trade build industry would be advantageous.

You need to have a clear understanding of a set of building plans and construction sequencing. Experience in computer estimating software would also be an advantage, with specific training on Grove’s internal systems being given to the successful candidate. You need to be able to demonstrate a willingness to get on top of and understand pricing matrices and quickly develop institutional knowledge.

A customer focus is essential, being able to respond to account managers and customers and drive for results will serve in good stead.
