Job description

As Manual Test Analyst, we need you to focus on ensuring the quality and appropriateness regarding new software and enhancements to existing systems. You will also need to be able to support a framework of continuous delivery. You will proactively participate in Agile software design and build processes, as well as manual and automated assessments of software quality.

We need you to be a team player and a standout communicator. You will be someone who has experience improving software quality and delivery. You also need to be aware of risks and be able to take action and put in place appropriate controls when needed.

This 3-6 month contract role is at a Queen Street office in the public sector. Preferrably you will have will have widespread exposure across governemnt business and you can expect to work with people from the Enterprise Architect, Product, and Platform Operations teams.

About the role:

  • Help to ensure the quality and timeliness of new products and maintenance of existing products for both internal and external customers within the framework of the QA strategy.
  • Contribute to the assessment of functional requirements such as system performance
  • Liaise with other Quality Assurance Engineers to promote best practices and adherence to QA Strategy both internally and externally to the team.
  • Work with Business Analysts and Developers regarding refinement of requirements, test case design and the testability of products which enable earlier and more accurate assessment of product quality.
  • UAT and system intregration projects

About you:

  • A tertiary qualification in computing, engineering or other analytical discipline that relates to the IT industry and/or equivalent industry experience.
  • 3+ years’ experience in manual testing for functional requirements.
  • 1+ years’ experience with UAT & system integration projects
  • Familiarity and experience of testing web services, websites along with database systems
  • Ability to engage in both technical discussions with development team as well as discussions regarding customer needs and requirements to Business Analysts and Product Owners
  • Experience with Agile software development, specifically the Scrum framework
  • Strong team, inter-personal and communication skills. Desire to work closely with a variety of people, both inside and outside the company, who have differing viewpoints, priorities and technical understanding
  • Knowledge of other web based and mobile technologies/platforms
