Our client supplies great local produce not only nationally but also worldwide. This company is experiencing considerable growth and need more great people to keep the wheels turning.

We are looking for a Technician Invision/Sizer to join the operation in Hastings on a full time, permanent basis. This is a pivotal role in this high paced operation and requires someone with the right skills and experience to make it successful. The tasks of this role include adhering to all company H&S regulations, operation of the Compac Sizer & Blemish grading sotware as well as managing the quality & output of the production. You will possess prior leadership skills as you will have a handful of direct QC reports and as a lot of this produce is going off sure, accuracy & a passion for the industry is absolutely paramount.

This is a site that has a very seasonal work-flow, so it tends to be busy or extra busy, so the successful applicant will need to have proven experience working in a fast faced production environment and be prepared to hit the ground running. Other essential skills are:

  • Previous experience in a packhouse or similar environment
  • Office administration with medium to high computer literacy (Word and Excel)
  • Problem solving skills and the ability to efficiently escalate faults
  • Be a team player and be able to provide assistance to other aspects of the operation
  • Strong leadership skills and the integrity to work and motivate your team
  • the ability to problem solve and work autonomously
  • the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • A positive and energetic outlook along with excellent work ethic
  • Understanding of the horticulture industry would be an advantage
  • Operational supervisory experience
  • An understanding or prior use of Invision/Sizer software would be advantageous

    This is a waged, full time, permanent position (standard hours are 4.30pm - 2.30am Sunday - Friday) based in Hastings. During the season there is an expectation to be available to work overtime as required. At times you will be required to work "on the floor" so you mustn't be scared to get in and get your hands dirty if needed.
