Job description
I am seeking a Technical Operations Manager for a contract through to February 2020 with a large government client. This role will blend Project Management, Service Management and Technical expertise to inspire confidence in all levels of the organisation. The right candidate may have been a Technical Delivery Manager or Operations Manager, as the role requires a technical background because they will be able to give very clear directions on how to do things. They must also be a strong project manager, able to influence teams, manage relationships and incidents.
To be successful for the role you will require the following skills and experience:
- Strong communication and able to deliver advice and confidence to all levels
- Service management - Vendor side to know how to deliver AND client side knowing what to expect and how to get the best out of vendors
- Stakeholder management
- Architecture – Being able to see the bigger picture and know what should be where
- Experience managing technical teams
- Project/programme management experience – will be delivering, managing and doing all at the same time
- Experienced with VMware, Wintel and basic Networking
- SAP experience desirable but not essential
- Azure, AWS experience also desirable
