Senior Project Manager - 3-year fixed term salaried role through to May 2022

$150,000-$160,000 per annum neg, Wgtn CBD

strong focus on planning and delivery for major event

needs great planning and vendor liaison and supplier engagement skills

ABOUT THE ORGANISATION

This is a high-profile New Zealand government agency. They employ around 1,500 people and have numerous offices based in many different locations around the world.

Their head office is based in central city Wellington and employs around 500 people.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This Senior Project Manager role will be involved in a single, large programme of work that will be complete by early 2022. For that reason, this is 3 year fixed term position.

The programme will be ramping up quickly, and will be a busy one from the outset, so it is really important that you are someone who is comfortable with pressured situations and immovable deadlines.

The role is one that requires full end-to-end project management experience. This will include being responsible for:

leading the development of a technology strategy and roadmap

managing the procurement of a wide range of infrastructure technologies

managing service delivery and relationships with vendors

managing governance and status reporting

recruiting and managing a team.

It goes without saying that you need to be a high energy and engaging person who can build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and suppliers.

WHAT THEY ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOUR RESUME:

senior level project management experience in managing large, complex infrastructure projects from strategy development to implementation

highly developed supplier engagement and management skills, including involvement in procurement of IT services and products

demonstrated experience of having worked in large, high pressure IT project environments with lots of moving parts

experience of project management within the NZ government sector.
