About the organisation

The position is based in the head office of a high profile government agency. They are carrying out some of the biggest IT programme initiatives being carried out in New Zealand at the moment, so they are a busy bunch of people. As a result of the increase in workload around this programme, they need to recruit an additional Senior Business Analyst in to their team.  

About the manager

The manager is a really supportive, knowledgeable and down-to-earth person with a career track record of success in managing substantial BA teams.

About the role

You will be a member of an experienced business analysis team of around 12 people. You will be carrying out BA work relating to multiple applications across multiple workstreams.

IMPORTANT: their team is focused on carrying out business analysis and applications support activities for payment systems so they are looking for someone who has had exposure to working as a Business Analyst for systems relating to financial systems, accounting systems, banking systems or something similar.

A good deal of the work is focused on end-to-end projects, and thus will be involved in all aspects of business analysis, from scoping and business user requirements to work shopping, developing functional requirements, developing documentation and so on. 

In addition, they carry out applications support activities for software applications and online systems, so your knowledge in those area will be well utilised. 

The position also has an element of business process review and enhancement in it. So if you are someone who can always identify a way to do things better, this could be right up your alley!

Your general business analysis background will have been developed within a large organisation responsible for supporting large scale IT systems and business processes, e.g. a bank, insurance company, large government agency or similar.

It would be great if you have had some sort of exposure to Agile/Scrum, but this isn't by any means essential. They will offer full Agile training as needed.
