Steelfort is a long established, well respected, privately owned manufacturing and distribution company with their head office based in Palmerston North. An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Sheet-metal worker to join their team.

This position requires someone who has previous experience in general light sheet-metal work and engineering skills or Trade qualified (preferably with light machining and/or machine operating skills). These skills will be utilised in the manufacture of finned tube heat exchangers.

What we are looking for:

  • Experienced Sheet-metal Tradesman or semi-skilled.
  • Competent in using light sheet-metal and engineering hand tools and equipment
  • Knowledge and experience in Oxy/Acetylene braising utilising Silphos and Easi-flow to weld copper pipe work, TIG experience may be advantageous
  • Ability to read an interpret engineering drawings and mark out jobs accurately
  • Capable of working to a high standard

    • Learn to operate new machinery

      You may also be asked to undertake other duties within the manufacturing facilities to achieve delivery targets.

      Current workshop hours are Monday to Thursday 6.00am to 4.30pm and overtime is often available on Fridays and where requested.
