Reporting to the Project Leader, an exciting opportunity has arisen in this forward moving company for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their Product Design team. The main purpose of this position is to design and develop mechanical engineering solutions and to lead cross functional team projects or sub projects to deliver on their product plan.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparation of Design documents including requirement specifications, CAD Models, Design Drawings, Test Plans and results, and Design Transfer Documentation
• Construction and evaluation of design prototypes
• Training and support of product assembly, technical writing, technical support, test analysis and sales and marketing in product technical features
• Lead and manage cross functional projects or sub-projects to deliver on the company product plan (in conjunction with the team leader)
• Technical leadership support to maintain the mechanical engineering knowledge base
• Support the development and maintenance of product design practices and procedures that assure agreed design quality standards are achieved
• Provide regular reports to the Team Leader and/or Project Manager on activities and progress

  To be successful you will ideally have:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • 5+ years product design experience in a Mechanical Design Engineering role
  • Proven experience working with cross functional teams to deliver a successful, commercial product design outcome
  • Experience with CAD models
  • Fuel dispensing or oil industry experience is desirable
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail with a strong focus on quality
  • The ability to work well in a team environment

    Training will be provided as required in Creo (Pro E CAD), Windchill Product Life Cycle Management, Learning First Product Development and Rapid Learning Cycles.
