Production Supervisor (Engineering)

We are looking for Production Supervisor, with strong knowledge and proven experience in planning and production flow from an engineering background. Reporting directly to the Manager you will drive continuous improvement and industry best practice within our manufacturing site.


Key responsibilities include:

• Following up in advance that drawings contain relevant information
• Confirming the production and project plan is regularly achieved
• Ensuring materials, consumables, accessories, plant and machinery are readily available
• Achieving the daily and weekly manufacturing plans
• Monitoring product specification, inspection and testing plans
• Liaising with Leading Hands and Supervisors to follow up quality procedures



Personal attributes:

• Ideally 2 years' experience in engineering manufacturing /production environment
• Good knowledge of maintaining health & safety processes and compliance
• Engineering qualification in a related field
• Background in process management and continuous improvement
• Methodical and systematic approach to solving problems
• Experience in Standard Workshop Engineering practice
• Well-developed report writing and editing skills
• Excellent MS Office Skills
• Outstanding relationship management


To be successful you will have:

• Experience in the production or manufacturing industry
• Proficient with spread sheets and word documents
• Experience in a supervisory role, preferably in the engineering industry
• Flexibility with work hours, and ability to work overtime
• A natural and trusted leader of staff
• Able to acknowledge good performers and lift poor performers.
• Comfortable managing staff conflict, poor performance and misconduct
• Understanding of health and safety protocols
• Organised and able to mobilise a team.


The primary duties of the role will include overseeing production, ensuring quality checks and standards are maintained, leading the daily activities of the team members, and reporting to the manager. The site has a down to earth attitude and they want someone who is happy to get their hands dirty, lead by example and provide team members with the direction and structure they need to develop and remain happy with the business. You will be an integral leader of the health and safety and continuous improvement teams and this position will very much have a strategic approach.

You must have previous experience in manufacturing, some exposure to Stainless preferred but this is not essential. Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate the drive and leadership of those around them in line with our business philosophy
