Our client is large and well-established manufacturer of customised architectural/ building products. They are looking for an experienced manager to join their senior leadership team and oversee the operation of the production site.

The main purpose of the role is to strive for an optimal level of productivity while minimising waste, and ensuring quality and health and safety standard are maintained at the highest level at all times. As a champion of Lean and Continuous Improvement, you will be a hands-on manager who enjoys leading from the front.

Although they are a large factory, they have multiple assembly stations and CNC machines that produce one-off, customised products, so they are more akin to a fabrication or machine shop as opposed to a mass production/ FMCG environment. Therefore, we are looking for candidates who have experience managing a similar type of operation and ideally in a similar industry. If you have a background in a mechanical trade or engineering, it would be highly advantageous.

In summary, the requirements for the role are,

* Extensive management experience with large, multicultural teams and across multiple departments.
* Experience managing a workshop/ fabrication/ machine shop or similar type of production environment.
* Building, architectural, windows and doors, or joinery experience is highly regarded
* A technical background in mechanical or engineering
* Experience in production planning and ERP systems
* Proven and practical experience in implementing Lean and Continuous Improvement principles
* Experience in developing SOPs and KPIs
