Our client is a well known heavy vehicle manufacturing company located in Tauranga, in the sunny Bay Of Plenty!  They are in need of a strong and energetic supervisor to run the finish and final finish departments.

This role will report to the Production Manager and will be responsible for ensuring the Department meets its outputs in a safe and timely manner, while ensuring all work is carried out to a high standard and that quality checks are carried out following the client's document controls.  

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in leading a team, quality control, health and safety, staffing performance management and will have excellent planning and organisational skills.

Your great communication skills and experience within a transport manufacturing/production environment will help you succeed.

Ideally you will also have skills/experience in:
* Heavy vehicles assembly (at least 2-3 years’ experience)
* Ability to follow instructions/ drawings required
* High quality of workmanship
* Operate basic hand tools
* Operate machinery in a safe and competent manner
* Follow established methods/work requirements
* Undertake the agreed assembling process
* Respond to assembly/component issues

Additional roles and responsibilities could include, but are not limited to:

Being accountable for:
* Providing leadership and direction to reporting staff
* Chair daily Tool Box meetings with all of staff
* Ensure staff are trained to a satisfactory standard
* Promote a healthy working environment for department.

Health & Safety
* Implement proactive hazard management.
* Ensure accurate, timely reporting and recording of all accidents/incidents.
* Ensure monthly Safety Audits are completed.
* Ensure Health and Safety legislation is adhered to in all work areas
* Ensure Sub Contractors adhere to Health and Safety policies and practices.
* Undertake all relevant Health and Safety training.
* Carry out inductions for all new staff to your department.
* Ensure staff supervision, informed and trained in Safe Work Practices.
