People & Culture Advisor

Human Resources and Personnel

Job description

This New Zealand Crown Entity has supported New Zealanders for more than seventy years, preparing us for challenging times and helping us get through when disaster strikes.

The last decade has seen the organisation rise to prominence and face considerable pressure as demand for its services increased. Today they are embarking on an exciting journey of change to ensure they continue to meet the needs of Kiwis into the future. Recruitment and retention are critical to this evolution, as they look to take current staff on the journey and seek change focused individuals to join them — which is where you come in.

We’re looking for a resilient person who likes being smack-bang in the thick of the action. What’s most appealing is that you’ll be working with a passionate, highly experienced Manager who is committed to developing the national team, so there’s a really strong opportunity for career progression.
As a key member of this close-knit team, your focus is to support and coach managers and assist when issues are identified by juggling priorities, and perceptively problem-solving.

You’ll be happily dealing with BAU plus taking part in projects that will give you the opportunity to be involved driving change.  Your intuitive relationship building skills will be key as you work to become a trusted advisor to busy managers and their teams.

An agile, experienced HR generalist with several years under your belt, you’ll be able to utilise your experience; with your employee relations nous and confident technical skills, you’ll impress those around you with your ability to influence positive outcomes.

In addition to working with like-minded people who ardently share your commitment to service, continuous improvement, making NZ a better place and quietly enjoying the wins along the way… you can look forward to a competitive salary, generous learning and development, flexibility options and a good shot of the social stuff that’s still so important.
