Our Horticulture industry’s leading grower-owned post-harvest operator is seeking for an innovative Packhouse Manager to take charge of their packhouse functions. The company you will be applying for, has a strong commitment to their people and strong vision towards growers.

Reporting to Site Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that fruit is handled to best practices and within set budgets. Also, you will have to manage the cleaning and maintenance program which is crucial to the overall production operation.

At this role your leadership and management skills will be tested as you will oversee both permanent and seasonal staff, aspiring to create an environment of operational excellence. You will also be provided the opportunity to support he automation strategy for the business.

In this role you will need to have:
* Demonstrated experience in a production environment, with history of successfully leading and coordinating teams.
* Excellent management skills, communication, and time management.
* A demonstrated understanding of achieving both quality and cost targets
* Proven capability to operate under tight deadlines and make sound decisions even in high-pressure scenarios
* Background in lean manufacturing practices and strong emphasis on fostering continuous improvement
* Skilled in understanding and maintaining a strong awareness of guiding and supporting teams in the adherence to safe work practices, with the goal of fostering a strong Health and Safety culture.
* Excellent attention to detail and strong ability to plan work flow for the site.
