Operations/Procurement Manager

Transport and Logistics

Job description

The KidsCan Charitable Trust is growing to help even more disadvantaged New Zealand children reach their education potential by providing food, clothing and basic healthcare in schools. The results this amazing organisation has achieved since 2005 are heartwarming, with research showing a significant impact on reducing social issues, increasing class participation, and, most importantly, raising the self-esteem of children who felt they had no hope. Ensuring they continue to have the right products and can obtain them at the right price, is where this new senior leadership role comes in.

Reporting to Julie, the inspiring and down-to-earth CEO who started it all, you'll bring new capability to their supplier and product portfolio management. What's exciting is that be able to influence programme development, enable new sourcing opportunities and savings around product procurement -- growing their product range. Here, your focus on sustainability and exceptional negotiation skills will make all the difference as you build great relationships with suppliers -- including travelling to China bi-annually to meet some of them in person.

We're looking for an experienced practitioner who knows their way around supply chain and distribution and has can demonstrate their procurement planning and product management expertise -- potentially at an international level. Your ability to analyse supply chain data and produce order pattern reports will be important to ensure correct forecasting and purchasing decisions.

You'll have one direct report, so approachability and people leadership experience is essential. While this role demands personal strength and tenacity, we're also looking for great people skills and a humble, team-focused approach.

As part of this passionate, committed and feel-good team, you will enjoy an attractive salary, envy-inducting Albany location and the chance to spread your wings with international travel.

If enabling the children of today for tomorrow with your unique skill set spins your wheels, we want to hear from you. Contact Annie O'Keefe online today.
