WHO
Our client is a trusted wholesale supplier of a range of timber products to the NZ market as well as a supplier to key export markets. In addition to sales of finished timber our client also provides custom kiln drying, various timber preservation treatments and timber machining options.
Due to pending retirement of the incumbent we are looking for an Operations Manager to join the organisation. You will be responsible with providing motivational leadership and direction across the Waikato operation as well as a smaller operation in the Bay of Plenty region. Additional responsibilities are varied and include tasks related to quality, efficiencies, supplier liaison, systems/process improvement, relevant compliance and assisting the General Manager with the successful smooth running of the organisation. This role is also responsible for ensuring that the highest standards of Health and Safety are adhered to onsite. You will be well supported by a Production Manager and a number of key site staff.
WHERE
This position is based in North Waikato, so this is a great opportunity if you live in either South Auckland or the Waikato Region. A company vehicle is provided as part of your package.
WHAT
Applicants will have a proven track record of experience in an operational leadership position, ideally within the timber, manufacturing or production-based environment. The successful candidate will also be commercially shrewd with exceptional leadership, relationship management and communication skills. You will have an easy-going personality and fit well into any environment.
