Job description

You will be an exceptional HR Manager being a strategic part of the national leadership team, reporting directly to the GM of the company. This is national role that will see you roll up your sleeves to support the operations on the ground nationally and will involve travel across the country regularly while being based full time in the Waikato.

This is an industrial environment, where suits and ties are not the attire, in fact, you will need to be comfortable in steel cap boots and a high viz vest quite often. You will be help shape the HR space for the whole company and will be taking over many tasks from other senior managers now that a national HR role has been created. You will run the recruitment, and retention of staff nationally, advise and support the regional managers with performance management and Employment Relations matters.

You will be the shoulder to lean on when things get tough, assist with creating and or reviewing processes and policies and manage on-boarding and inductions, as well as creating position descriptions.

To be successful in the role you need to have sound knowledge of HR processes and legislation as you will advise management on ER matters and best practices. You will have extensive experience in recruitment, coaching, disciplinary meetings, performance management, training and development and HR reporting.

Your strong business acumen, organisational and time management skills, coupled with your effective and efficient written and verbal communication skills, will help you shape this role.

Ideally you will have 5-10 years’ experience, with more than 3 years spent in a senior HR management capacity and a tertiary qualification in human resources or a similar field. You will have proven ability to proactively contribute to building a positive culture and encouraging a cooperative and productive team environment.
