Established in 1949 Jesco Hydraulics & Pneumatic Engineers are a well-known Invercargill based company who pride themselves on being Southlands leading specialists in Hydraulics and Pneumatics.

The Job

As a mobile Hydraulink hose Van Driver the job is vast, hands on, practical, and also encompasses all aspects of customer service. Operating from the Invercargill base, duties will vary from routine hose replacement and break down repairs to full system connection and installation. This work can take place anywhere from forestry sites to major dams & power stations to Gold Mines, Commercial fishing vessels and large Industrial businesses. The role will challenge you to provide solutions and build relationships with existing customers across the region as well as calling on new cliental across the region. All while a strong & established technical team will be on hand to offer support & training.

About You

Ideally you will have previous Hydraulic and Pneumatic experience or you are a mechanically minded individual who is willing to learn the required skills. As well as being a technical position this is also a very customer orientated role where you will be dealing with customers daily via phone, email and face to face. With this aspect of the role you will ideally have previous sales or retail experience.

Key skills required:

  • Hose and fittings knowledge (preferred but not essential)
  • Practical, Hands on and Mechanically minded
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent time management and a high standard of fast, quality workmanship
  • Demonstrate initiative and ability to handle pressure and multiple jobs
  • Excellent customer service skills and positive attitude
  • Excellent interpersonal manner and teamwork ethic
  • A positive and pro-active attitude to modern health & safety practices
  • Ability to problem solve and work autonomously
  • The ability to cold call, make conversation, observe & understand customers' requirements
  • Current full clean drivers licence
  • Ability to work outside normal working hours & respond to call outs when on call
  • There may be some out of town work so the ability to work away periodically
  • Physically fit and able
  • Good down to earth sense of humour
