The role of the mechanical technician will be directly responsible for the day to day activities in a busy service environment. Carry out repairs and maintenance of a varied range of trucks, trailers and heavy transport equipment.

Job specific duties include repairs, maintenance and servicing of trucks, trailers and heavy transport equipment, complete job cards and paperwork accurately and clearly, work as part of a rostered call out system ad complete training requirements. Make active contributions to continuous improvement, individual development and company growth. Ensure all work areas and equipment are maintained in a clean, tidy and safe manner.

Minimum experience and qualifications

• High school graduate with NZCE or other relevant trade qualification
• Experience in a service environment
• Good understanding of mechanical service and repairs
• Good understanding of service technology
• Good understanding of specialist equipment would be an advantage
