Our Nelson-based client is looking for a proactive and motivated Management Accountant with proven experience to join their progressive business. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, in your role you will assist in accounting, finance and administrative functions. You will be working collaboratively across the business to support the objectives and goals of this essential business.

    The key responsibilities of this role are:

    • Maintain accounts payable/receivable functions
    • Record daily bank transactions and reconcile any differences.
    • Payroll duties through the IMS system including preparing fortnightly wages and reporting functions
    • Prepare and file PAYE and GST returns on a timely basis
    • Month-end accounting includes reviewing petty cash transactions, balance sheet reconciliations and journals.
    • Close month-end and end of year accounts.
    • Prepare production costing analyses
    • Prepare, record and reconcile inter-company management fees
    • Assist in the production of budgets and forecasts on a monthly and annual basis
    • Assist and coordinate with external auditors during a financial audit

      To be successful you will ideally have the following:

      • At least 3 years' New Zealand working experience in accounting/audit roles
      • Knowledge of MYOB accounting software and IMS payroll system is preferable
      • Knowledge of MS Dynamics systems will be highly regarded but not a must.
