Our client is a renowned locally owned and operated processing plant based in Wairarapa. With 4 sites across the north island, they are well established and secure company working within primary industries. Priding themselves on putting people first, this company is health & safety conscious with a huge focus on family & team culture.

Due to growth, they are currently looking for a mechanically minded fitter to perform maintenance and general mechanical work on their wide range of heavy industry equipment. The shift is Monday to Friday, 7- 4 with overtime available when needed. An on call roster all operates across this plant.

We are looking for a trade qualified or time served fitter who has excellent hands-on skills in fitting and performing maintenance on mechanical parts such as pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, etc. Machining and welding skills will be highly regarded as well. To excel in this role, you will carry a continuous improvement mindset and be champion in health and safety.

In summary, the requirements are,
* A trade qualification in mechanical engineering is ideal
* Extensive experience working in a mechanical fitting or mechanical maintenance role
* Production experience or heavy industrial experience is highly preferred
* Excellent hands-on fault finding skills
* Health and safety conscious
