Our client is a well-known manufacturer in the building industry. They are now looking for a Maintenance Engineer to look after the afternoon shift (Mon - Fri) for their state-of-the-art facility in Cambridge.

This is a mechanical based role with a strong focus in reliability and automation. As the Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the smooth running of the plant and minimising of downtime. We are looking for someone with a preventative maintenance mindset and has extensive experience working with highly automated machinery. Although this is a mechanical role, if you are electrically qualified as well or is experienced with SCADA, HMI and PLC programming in particular it would be highly desirable.

This is a rare opportunity for an accomplished engineer to be based outside of Auckland and still enjoy earning a high salary.

In summary, the requirements for this role are,

* Minimum trade qualified in mechanical engineering or similar
* Excellent mechanical fault finding skills (e.g. hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, conveyors, etc.)
* Extensive preventative and breakdown maintenance experience in a production environment
* Extensive experience with PLC driven machinery and have an excellent understanding in automation and controls (programming experience is highly desirable)
* EWRB or EAS is a bonus
