Our client is a prominent building material manufacturer with a well established history in New Zealand. Due to an expansion of operation long time in the making, they are now ready to put together new teams across multiple departments at their production site in Hamilton, starting immediately.

As part of this expansion, we are looking for an experienced Maintainer Operator to join their extrusion department. There are 3 shifts available with overtime opportunities. Preference will be given to those who are flexible to move between shifts if required.

As a Maintainer Operator, you will be responsible for both the operation/ setup of the production machines, as well as working alongside other engineers to fault-find and perform preventative and breakdown maintenance.

This is an excellent opportunity for any experienced production operators with mechanical aptitude or those who have recently completed a qualification/ apprenticeship in mechanical engineering or fitting turning to kick start their engineering career.

In summary, the requirements for this role are,

* Previous experience working in production and working with production machines.
* Ideally a qualification in mechanical engineering or in a related field
* Good mechanical experience, previously fault-finding experience highly regarded
* Champion in Health and Safety and Continuous Improvement
* Good communication skills and able to work as a team
