Job description

Our client is a young FMCG company, operating in multiple market segments and countries. Their breakfast food division is searching for a Machine Setter for Night Shift.

The Machine Setter role is key to achieving the production plan and ensuring quality control.

Reporting to the Production Coordinator, the Machine Setter is the most senior hands on role within the manufacturing cell and is responsible for safe and effective changeovers and operation of plant and equipment to agreed standards. The position is hands on, and is the go-to person within the manufacturing cell providing leadership and direction to the team and therefore required to act on the production coordinators behalf when required.

The key duties and responsibilities for this role will include, but are not limited to:

Safety; Quality Management; People; Cost / Productivity;
Operations – Ensure start up procedures are followed and check sheets completed. Review processes and procedures for ongoing improvement and ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) match approved processes. Achieve daily production plan and monitor line performance and take action when needed. Ensure machine settings are adhered to and review machine settings to potential improvements. Facilitate and/ or conducts counts & returns all raw materials and packaging at the end of each production run.

Technical Competency - Able to provide troubleshooting expertise on some of the key plant and process within their manufacturing cell. Able to provide basic root cause analysis of machinery failures and stops and co-ordinate remedial action directly with internal resources. Operate and coordinate plant operations within a team or independently.

Night shift is from 16:00pm to 4:00am, Monday to Saturday, rostered days.

This role requires a high level of numerical competency, and an excellent command of written and oral English.

The ideal candidate will also have:
* NCEA Level 1
* Minimum of 4 years work experience in a manufacturing environment
* Experience as a machine setter within Food manufacturing sector
* Formulation and mix experience
* Counter Balance Fork hoist Licence Skills / Capabilities

Please note, this is a permanent, full time position and you must be able to work in NZ with no visa working restrictions, to be considered for the role. Preference will be given to candidates with relevant experience in the food industry.
