Machine Operators (Hamilton)

Manufacturing and Production

Job description

Our client is a prominent building material manufacturer with a well established history in New Zealand. Due to an expansion of operation long time in the making, they are now ready to put together new teams across multiple departments at their production site in Hamilton, starting immediately.

There are 2 shifts available, morning and afternoon, Monday to Friday, 12 hours each. Preference will be given to those who are flexible to move between shifts if required.

We are looking for candidates who have prior experience working in a production environment and are comfortable working with machinery. An acceptable level of literacy and numeracy is required to ensure the machines are operated correctly and the right amount/ type of materials are processed. Due to the heavier nature of the products compared to, for example, food, we do require a good level of fitness for these roles as well.

If you already have good mechanical skills or have experience in a trade environment, we would love to hear from you as well - training and development opportunities will be provided to those who can demonstrate the aptitude to become a Maintenance Fitter/ Engineer.

In summary, the requirements for these roles are,

* Prior experience in production/ machine operation
* Good level of literacy and numeracy
* Physically fit
* Have the flexibility to work long/ varied hours (no permanent night)
* Mechanical aptitude is highly regarded (e.g. setting and changeover of machines, hand tools/ power tools, fabrication, or experience with dies and extrusions, etc.)

With an attractive base rate alongside time and a half overtime and long working hours available, there is potential to achieve a very good income.
