Our client based in Taupo is currently seeking an experienced Manager who is passionate about keeping New Zealand beautiful. As there Landfill Manager you will lead and develop there on-site team of about 10 staff made up of Customer Service, Labourers and Operators. Our Client has a comprehensive range of proven solutions available to assist with optimising sustainability and are constantly innovating to develop new solutions to meet the needs of our customers.

Operating Taupo Landfill & Transfer Stations on behalf of the Council, we are looking for a Landfill Manager to lead & develop our on-site team including Machine Operators, Labourers & customer facing roles. This is a varied role where your focus will be

  • Driving employee engagement & direction of the daily workflow
  • Managing across multiple sites and in conjunction with Management Accountant regularly reviewing financial performance for the sites
  • Landfill consents and working closely with council clients
  • Regularly reporting on site performance, financials and health & safety
  • Monitoring and managing the on-site machinery & plant, ensuring it is maintained to a high standard, regularly serviced and ensuring fit for purpose
  • Leading all aspects of compliance and Health & Safety

    To be successful, you will have:

    • 5+ years management experience within Earthworks, Transport or Logistics (or even better, the Waste industry - however we can teach you all you need to know)
    • Business acumen and understanding of P&L's
    • Encouraging demeanour and want to develop & coach your team
    • Intermediate level MS Office skills and comfortably with monthly reporting
    • Understanding of managing a fleet of trucks and/or machinery
    • Previous experience working with local councils is highly beneficial to this role
