Job description

I am currently recruiting for a client based in Kirikiriroa, who have a part time role for an experienced Leader with Mental Health experience, knowledge of kaupapa Maori to lead, provide support and guidance in line with the organisations expectations and sector standards. This is to ensure all services delivered are culturally appropriate and safe practices for the Whanaunga and/or other stake holders.

Our client is looking for someone to join their people focused, values driven, kaupapa Maori lead team. The successful applicate will need to deliver the best possible service to the Whanaunga and be an important member of the team and organization.



For this role you will:

  • Be able to deliver culturally appropriate and safe practices for the Whanaunga and/or other stake holders
    • Have the necessary management and sector specific (adult mental health) and kaupapa Maori knowledge and skill to lead your team
      • Have good interpersonal skill and can communicate appropriately either verbally or in writing
        • Proven skills leading a team with varied abilities
          • Excellent computer literacy and client management data skills, report writing,
            • Role model in a supportive manner
              • Have the confidence, skills and stamina to carry out all the duties to a high professional standard
                • Demonstrate compassion, care, holistic wellbeing and have the ability to be part of a helpful contributing team

                  The successful candidate will need:

                  • Necessary specific knowledge around Adult Mental Health, and a compassionate disposition coupled with at least 5 years' experience
                    • Working knowledge and history of achievements in integrating Maori practices into your professional practices
                      • The ability to work outside normal hours as required
                        • Proven quality leadership experience
                          • The skill to work with others to achieve the annual and strategic goals of the organisation
                            • Be part of a senior management team
                              • Fostering a positive relationship with internal and external stake holders
                                • Experience to support the development and practice of your staff in all areas, including a pathway to holistic wellbeing.
