Intermediate Accountant

Accountancy

Job description

Help us evolve and grow to meet the needs of Kiwi kids.

Intermediate Accountant

  • Inspiring Kiwi not-for-profit
  • Highly responsive organisation
  • Albany based — flexible working and free parking!
KidsCan Charitable Trust was founded in 2005 by Julie Chapman in her Auckland garage. From these humble beginnings, KidsCan has grown to support 787 schools and 55 early childhood education centres feeding 44,000 children daily.  Underpinned by a mission to provide the essentials to Kiwi kids affected by poverty so they can participate in learning and have an opportunity for a better future, KidsCan has a vision of a better New Zealand for all Kiwi kids. Our organisation also provides quality raincoats, footwear and basic health items.

Reporting to the CFO, this newly established role is pivotal in supporting KidsCan to reach its goals.  You’ll need to be an energetic, competent, self-starter who’s happy to put their hand up and help others out to achieve results. This is a full accounting role, including accrual accounting, that requires strong Xero capability, solid excel skills and a forensic attention to detail.

We’re looking for a positive relationship builder and communicator who is ideally CA qualified. CPA or CIMA are also acceptable.  For us, it’s your management accounting experience, initiative and attitude that counts. Financial analysis and modelling skills would also be a huge plus for our organisation.

As part of our committed, passionate and close-knit team, you can look forward to an attractive salary, handy Albany location and flexible working across your 36-40 hour week — including working from home, up to seven day’s sick leave and 4pm finishes on a Friday!

If you’re excited by being part of a responsive, highly regarded not-for-profit where you can take ownership and make a difference, apply online to Annie O’Keefe today.
