Industry Standards Assessor - Automotive

Education and Training

Job description

If you know your way around the automotive industry, you’ve probably spent some time with young apprentices on the job as they worked towards achieving their unit standards and ultimately a National Qualification. In fact, you were probably one yourself! Which could make you perfect for a role that will make the most of your industry skills and knowledge while giving you the chance to take your career in a rewarding new direction.

MITO is the industry training organisation for the automotive industry and others. As one their passionate team of assessors, you’ll have the vital task of assessing the work of MITO learners working towards qualifications — these assessments occur online, which means you could potentially work remotely.

You’ll work closely with the training advisors to ensure that assessment portfolios are complete prior to submission and learning designers to ensure assessment materials are fit-for-purpose. Your role will also include delivering special projects for the Assessment and Moderation and contributing to wider ITO projects or initiatives.

We’re looking for an experienced and qualified automotive professional who would enjoy contributing to the future of the industry and helping young people embark on their careers.

A strong communicator, you'll have exposure to quality control systems and unit standards together with sound reporting writing and computer skills. Knowledge of the NZQA framework and industry training would be an advantage, however you can look forward to great training and plenty of support.

In return, you can look forward to a competitive salary and being part of a hugely passionate team in a family like culture where innovation is encouraged, and career development is a certainty for those who excel.

If you’re keen to contribute to the industry in a new way while making the most of the experience you have gained, contact Annie O’Keefe today.
