Progressive Engineering who first opened there doors in 1989 is a market leader in the supply, servicing, & installation of milking equipment, effluent systems & pumps and plumbing. With currently 42 permanent staff spread amongst 5 divisions Progressive Engineering is continuing to grow the business to ensure the rural southern community are provided with exceptional service & delivery but also the most up to date equipment sourced both nationally & globally. With this growth there is an opportunity to join the team of 3 based in the Cromwell office.

Duties for this role include

  • Wiring and commissioning of new dairy sheds
    • Examining blue prints, wiring diagrams & specifications to determine sequences & methods of operation
    • Connecting power for centre pivot irrigators & programming
    • Using electrical & electronic test instruments to trace & diagnose faults in dairy sheds
    • Wiring of new domestic residences combined with alterations to existing residences
    • Repairing & replacing faulty wiring & defective parts
    • Wiring & programming of VSD's
    • Positioning and installing electrical switch boards
    • Connecting electrical systems to power supply
    • Completion and signing off of COC's as required
    • On call work as required

      To be considered for this position you will need the following

      • EWRB Registration
      • Full NZ Driver's licence or equivalent
      • Minimum of 2 plus years working as an electrician
      • Strong attention to detail when processing timesheets, job cards & other detailed tasks
      • Excellent communication with fellow staff and clients to ensure work is carried out to a premium level & any concerns are escalated promptly to mitigate negative impact on clients & company
      • Exceptional time management & Organisational skills ensuring deadlines are met
      • Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously
      • Strong ability to problem solve and use initiative

        Days Hours and On call

        • 7am - 5 pm Monday to Friday with additional hours as required
        • On call as required

          Tools

          • The successful applicant will be required to have their own tools however a tool allowance is paid over and above the hourly rate
