Human Resources Business Partner

Human Resources and Personnel

Job description

This New Zealand Crown Entity has supported New Zealanders for more than seventy years, preparing us for challenging times and helping us get through when disaster strikes.

The last decade has seen the organisation rise to prominence and face considerable pressure as demand for its services increased. Today they are embarking on an exciting journey of change to ensure they continue to meet the needs of Kiwis into the future. Recruitment and retention are critical to this evolution, as they look to take current staff on the journey and seek change focused individuals to join them — which is where you come in.

We’re looking for a resilient person who likes being smack-bang in the thick of the action; perceptively identifying issues, taking a lead with them before they become a problem, shifting perceptions and influencing positive outcomes across the organisation.

With 580 people and three sites to service, you’ll be happily dealing with BAU plus taking on bold people projects that will give you the opportunity to drive change and navigate improvements for both staff and clients alike.

Your intuitive relationship building skills will be key as you work to become a trusted advisor to busy managers and a sounding board for your team. And by the way… your team awaits you with enthusiasm!

An agile, experienced HR generalist, with a proven record of success at the senior level, you’ll be able to draw on your experience from both private and public arenas where the pace has been swift.

From your employee relations nous and sound management coaching skills to experience implementing people and career development strategies to mediation know-how (ideally), you’ll impress those around you with your ability to lead difficult discussions and influence outcomes.

In addition to working with like-minded people who ardently share your commitment to service, continuous improvement, making NZ a better place and quietly enjoying the wins along the way…you can look forward to a competitive salary, generous learning and development provision and benefits and a good shot of the social stuff that’s still so important.
