Our client is a distributor of trucks and buses across New Zealand. With world renowned brands such as MAN, Western Star and Dennis Eagle, they pride themselves on delivering the best products in the industry. Based in the Auckland workshop in Wiri, as one of our Client’s Truck and Diesel Auto Electricians, you will carry out electrical work across a diverse range of premium brands. You will get hands on with demonstrating your expertise in trouble shooting and diagnostic skills in identifying solutions and repairs for electrical failures. It is not all about the tools – you will also work directly with customers and provide great customer service.

About you
Reporting directly to the Service Foreman we are seeking a self-motivated individual who is flexible and prepared to go the extra mile to meet customer demands and diagnose and repair complex electrical faults.
You need to be flexible in hours of work with a possibility of Saturdays and extended shifts.

Our ideal candidate should possess the following attributes –
• Be a trade qualified mechanic / electrician with an interest in and has proven electrical diagnostic skills.
• Be highly motivation and be prepared to assist with any heavy truck repair with a specific interest in electrical diagnostics;
• Be able to demonstrate a track record of completing mechanical and electrical repairs to excellent quality standards;
• Be a strong effective communicator, able to think for yourself and work efficiently with a minimum of supervision

This is an excellent opportunity to work on two premium brands of heavy trucks within a team environment of dedicated team of workshop professionals which makes this a very challenging & rewarding position.
While a heavy truck licence and previous mechanical experience within the heavy truck industry would be beneficial our ideal candidate will be a qualified mechanic with excellent electrical diagnostic and repair skills who is willing to step outside their comfort zone and contribute to a high standard with a business first ethos.

Most importantly, you will take pride in a job well done, and be a great team player. Prior experience with Western Star and MAN products would be an advantage, but not essential, as the client offers great training programs in their products.
