Job description

The role as Health and Safety Advisor is an integral member of our client’s health and safety practitioner team supporting their clients’ organisation's commitment to providing a professional health and safety environment for employees and Business Partners (Clients) across various sectors.

Based in Auckland and working from Kaitaia to Wellington and every place in between you’ll be responsible for handling each business partner account and maintaining and building the relationship while looking for value-adding opportunities.
 
You’ll have a solid track record in either construction, civil construction, maintenance, manufacturing or High Voltage electricity health and safety, with proven experience working with others - tailoring learning, risk and hazard identification and mitigation, development advisory and support as well as coaching solutions
 
Your expertise in communicating across all levels, being able to influence and inspire others to follow suit will ensure your success. Establishing and maintaining relationships with ease will be critical and your superb communications skills will mean you can confidently explain issues clearly and concisely.
 
Responsibilities include
  • Actively support and participate in the processes for the governance and management of health and safety to improve performance
  • Conduct site risk and hazard reviews preparing health and safety reports.
  • Assess the level of compliance of the implemented health and safety management system with certified management systems
  • Participate in investigations making informed recommendations.
  • Participate and review of business partner hazard and risk registers in conjunction with key stakeholders and interested parties. 
    Working knowledge of ASNZS 4801, ISO 45001, HSWA 2015 and ICAM investigation is preferred for success in this role.
     
    You’ll have a current driver’s licence, be computer literate in Microsoft Windows, excellent time management and strong ability to self-manage

    Demonstration of strong technical and specialist expertise in health and safety management, along with the ability to assess complex health and safety issues and consider options, risks, benefits and mitigation strategies, and make informed recommendations is a must.
    You’ll hold a tertiary qualification in relevant health and safety disciplines, and ideally, have at least five years health and safety advisor type role with a focus of building a positive safety culture in health and safety teams in a complex environment.
