Our client is a family owned and operated business, and are proud to be one the the industry leaders in duck production across Australia and New Zealand. They pride themselves on providing the highest level of care for each of the 31,000 ducks hatched every week at their Hatchery based 20 minutes from Cambridge.

We are looking for two eager and dedicated hatchery assistants to join the team on a full-time, temporary basis with a potential permanent opportunity in the future. You will be joining the current team of six and reporting to the Hatchery Manager. You will be required for a 12 days on, two days off roster, ensuring you have every second weekend off. Work starts at 5am each day and usually finishes between 2pm and 2:30pm, but can vary.

Duties will include, but aren't limited to;

  • Cleaning and sanitising sheds and equipment
  • Collecting, cleaning, identifying and labelling eggs
  • Carrying out maintenance work around the hatchery
  • Operating bobcats, quad bikes and motorbikes
  • Some paperwork required to record data

      The successful candidates will ideally posses the following;

      • Farming experience and animal welfare knowledge
      • A good sense of initiative and able to identify and complete maintenance work
      • WTR Endorsements ideal but not essential as these can be provided
      • Experience on bobcats, quad bikes and motorbikes preferred, but training can be provided
