Job description

Due to a recent departure our Napier based client requires the services of a Jack of all trades to help maintain their business premises internally and externally.

There are set weekly tasks to achieve as well as other Ad-Hoc general Handy man duties that will pop up weekly. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring company parking areas are clean and tidy
  • Monitor cleaning and canteen supplies to ensure a clean and hygenic working environment
  • Ensuring rubbish is available to contractors for off-site removal
  • Supporting activities related to maintenance of equipment and tools such as changing filters & some minor cleaning
  • Test and Tag for office and general common areas.

    Knowledge and Experience required

    • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools
    • Basic electrical knowledge and computer skills
    • Clean Drivers license
    • Ability to work independently with assigned daily tasks
    • Flexibility in working hours (from time to time)

      Ideally the succesful candidate will be available to work Monday to Friday for 4 hours per day during the morning. However 4 days of 5 hours will also be considered. This job may be suitable for someone who is semi retired as the hours of work will not increase over time. The successful candidate must pass a pre-employment drug test, have a clean ministry of justice record and a positive attitude towards work and health and safety in the workplace.
