We are currently recruiting on behalf of our Ashburton based client for a General Engineer. If you are a versatile tradesman that can turn your hand to anything, this is the role for you. If successful, you will be working in a small team of about six tradesmen and apprentices, based in a new, clean workshop that is situated on the north side of Ashburton.

Key tasks:

• Manual machining - lathes, mills, turns
• CNC machining - vertical and horizontal mills
• General fitting and assembly
• Maintenance fitting - factory plant and agricultural equipment
• Some fabrication and welding

  Skills and attributes required:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a general engineering role that involved the above tasks
  • Flexible and versatile nature
  • Ideally hold a Level 4 Engineering Trade Qualification
  • Can-do attitude and ablity to work in a tight-knit team
