Job description

We are looking for an experienced Foreperson to assist the Solid Waste Operation Supervisor with the daily operations of Council owned facilities and other Waste and Recycling related services in the Hastings District at Omarunui Landfill. The Forman will also stand in for the Solid Waste Supervisor, and other staff when on leave. It's a temporary to permanent position includes great pay and benefits.

Qualifications

Qualifications in earth works construction or related desirable but not essential.
- Current Class 2 Motor Vehicle Licence essential
  - R or T or W endorsements desired
    - Heavy Motor Vehicle Licence (Class 2) is essential (Class 4) desirable but not essential.
      Knowledge/Experience
      - General and staff management experience
        
        Experience in earth works sector and related activities
        
        Experience in solid waste sector and related activities (desirable)
        
        Some knowledge of environmental protection and engineering practices (desirable)
        
        Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements, processes, responsibilities and systems
