Job description

On behalf of our client, we are seeking someone with a technical mindset to assist with the servicing of fire protection and other compliance systems in the Dunedin area. This is a fire compliance testing role, therefor experience in the fire industry is preferred. At a minimum a strong focus on providing world class customer service while upholding nationally set standards are the key to being successful in this role.

The role itself will involve:

  • Liaising with customers on testing schedules, providing assistance if needed for owners' inspections.
  • Carry out inspections on fire alarms, fire sprinklers, emergency lighting systems and many other passive systems.
  • Identifying defects, service requirements and, where applicable, provide sufficient detail for quotations to be produced.
  • Completion of other tasks as required from time to time.
  • Completion of the required paperwork associated with a wide variety of jobs.

    The successful candidate will be able to:

    • Demonstrate efficiency through prior time and route planning
    • Have the ability to prepare written reports with clear well detailed information
    • Be a proactive member of the team
    • Maintain up to date knowledge and awareness of NZ Regulatory Industry Standards
      • NZQA New Zealand Certificate in Fire Protection Systems Technology (Testing) Level 3 or similar (or the ability to obtain one)
        • Hold a current Drivers License
          • The ability to work away from home when required (3-4 days a month)
          • Using FieldService our mobile phone application to plan and organize your scheduleand manage your work orders to completion
