My client is a hugely successful business that has demonstrated significant growth over the last 6 years.

Due to a resignation they are looking for a commercially focussed Finance Manager / Business partner who can support them as they take on the next step in their evolution.

This organisation are the NZ market leaders in their field and are constantly looking for new and innovative ways to grow the business, however are now at the size where they have rich data but lack the expertise to use this information to increase profitability and performance.

As the finance Manager, your role will be to manage a small team of 2, Assistant Accountant and Analyst, and ensure the usual company accounting requirements are met, however, my client is looking for more. In order to support the business growth, they are in need of a strategic thinker who understands the commercial drivers of a business. This involves providing analysis and commentary of:

• Sales performance,
• Procurement insights and analysis
• Profitability Analysis
• Demand Analysis

This role is heavily involved in the business partnering aspect of the business where you will be there to support the MD and other senior leaders int eh business to make sound business decisions, along with providing strategic direction, scenario analysis, and looking at how they can improve business practices across the board.   understand which lines are more profitable than others, which ones are most in demand  etc. This role is also going to be heavily involved in providing support to the Sales team and the operational team.

You will be a commercial thinker with a highly inquisitive, entrepreneurial streak. You need to be an excellent communicator with experience providing business insights and support to an organisation. This is a business partnering role, with the added responsibility of ensuring the Finance team provide timely and effective financial reporting to the business. You may be CA Qualified or Qualified by experience and excellent analytical skills using BI tools or Excel to manipulate data and provide insights and information.
