Field Service Engineer (Hamilton)

Engineering

Job description

Our client are a well-known brand of state-of-the-art, highly automated and highly specialised industrial machines for the manufacturing, agricultural, food, logistics sector, etc. As a result of growth, they are now looking for a Field Service Engineer to service, repair and commission their equipment across NZ (and the Oceania Region from time to time).

The equipment you work with will be of a wide variety, but you will need to have extensive experience working with automated machines, for example, within a food production environment or similar. This is a hands-on role in which Mechanical or Electrical (with a full EWRB licence) fault-finding will be your main skill.

There are regular customer interactions and you will be the face of the business when you are on site, so it is imperative that you are comfortable with acting professionally and presentable at all times.

Their workshop is located in Hamilton but you will be required to travel outside the Waikato region frequently as well as internationally from time-to-time.

If you have what it takes, this is a great opportunity for a skilled tradesperson or maintenance engineer to earn a managerial level salary while not being tied to a desk and still get to fulfill your engineering passion.

In summary, the requirements for this role are,

* Trade certificate or degree in mechanical engineering or similar
* Extensive mechanical or electrical fault finding experience (must have full EWRB if the latter)
* Extensive experience working with automated machines - PLC programming skills will be highly regarded
* MUST be okay with overnight travel and callouts
* Excellent customer service and communication skills
* Full NZ driver licence
