About us
Our client has been building the country's best windows and doors for over 30 years, being one of the largest aluminium window and door manufacturers in New Zealand. Their customers include many of the most successful residential and commercial building companies throughout the country.

About the role
The duties of this role include:

* Managing daily/weekly Production Schedules to ensure that all jobs are delivered in full, on time and in spec. Regular communication with the Production, Sales and Site teams is required to achieve this objective.
* Working alongside Factory Supervisors to ensure that high-quality workmanship, maximum efficiency and high productivity are consistently achieved.
* Applying strong people-management principles across the team to develop and foster a culture of pride and accountability. Positively influencing employee attendance, reliability and work ethic.
* Assisting with recruitment of new employees.
* Identify training requirements for factory staff, implementing training plans.
* Determine ways to improve efficiencies using Lean principles, focused on the elimination of waste.
* Managing labour costs and materials.
* Ensure full compliance of Health & Safety regulations, taking preventative measures and using thorough reporting processes.
* Quickly address poor behaviour and/or job performance in a professional, fair and constructive manner

Skills and experience you bring:

* Proven experience in a factory management role as ether a Foreman or Manager
* Experience in the aluminium windows and door industry would be advantageous, however, candidates with experience in other forms of manufacturing will be considered
* A passion for efficiency and continuous improvement.
* Be capable of building a strong leadership team to develop and maintain a positive and highly productive work force.
* Ability to work according to deadlines and function well under time pressure.
* Ability to analyze and troubleshoot problems.
* Display flexibility with changing working assignments and conditions
