Job description

What you will be doing:

  • Assemble, install, test and maintain electric equipment, appliances, device using hand tools and power tools
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, device and components, identify the root cause of breakdown and perform repairs
  • Perform and record planned maintenance
  • Support production by minimising down time
  • Complete installation by connecting cables, lights and fibre optic inside the TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine)
  • Make sure communication/information/reports are done daily and passed onto the supervisor for the next shift
  • Work collaboratively with Engineers, Mechanics and the wider construction team

    The successful candidate will have:

    • Minimum 4 years' experience in a similar role
    • Trade certification or hold an electrical engineering L4 qualification
    • Sound experience in the installation, repair and maintenance of all electrical system equipment
    • Experience working on heavy civil infrastructure projects ideal but not essential
    • You will hold NZ Electrical Registration with a current NZ Electrical Practicing License
    • Good approach to team work, communication and decision-making skills
    • Ability to work under pressure, determine priorities, whilst being safety conscious
    • Construct Safe ideal but not essential
    • Flexibility to work shifts and fault finding using PLC ideal
      • Certificates of Competence (CoC for underground/mines) would be an advantage.

        This is New Zealand's largest ever Wastewater Project consisting of close to 20km of tunnels, more than 17 shafts, a major pump station and substantial wastewater management and network infrastructure works. The project is located in Auckland with an approximate 6 year construction period.
