Electronic Systems Engineer
Permanent Position
Rotorua

We would also consider an individual who is at the start of their post graduate experience or a avionics or instrument technician with experience in programming

You will have proven ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
Excellent fault-finding skills, a great attitude, be adaptable and prepared to assist in other roles if required.

The role encompasses Design Manufacture Installations, testing, servicing, and repairing a range of industrial weighing products and systems.
You will also have a demonstrable understanding of electronic design, software development and computer network protocols.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills will be needed for processing large complex data sets and to develop working solutions.
Practical manufacturing skills are important in this role with an expectation that extended hours may be required on the Project work. Do you understand the integration of electronic systems?
Are you familiar with data acquisition, GPS systems or serial communications?
You will have direct contact with clients so excellent spoken English is a must and clean precise writing skills to ensure job cards and record keeping are accurate.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Basic Python Coding or experience in Embedded C / C++ or iOS
A keen interest to work on testing embedded systems and solve interesting problems
An analytical approach that would suit testing software systems
A curious mind in how software talks to hardware
Reliable, enthusiastic, individual with a ‘can do’ attitude.
Ability to build solid long-term relationships with customers.
Results driven and ability to meet set targets.
Ability to prioritise workload.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet.
Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic aptitude.
Physically fit (able to lift up to 20kg).
You must have excellent communication skills and be confident interacting with clients and suppliers.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
3+ Year's direct experience designing and implementing test systems for electronics
Working knowledge of sensors, signal conditioning, and data acquisition electronics
Experience with a scripting language for automating hardware tests
Technical writing experience
Previous experience in high reliability industry such as health care, aviation or aerospace
Previous experience in Electronic Weigh Systems, Weigh Bridges, and Conveyor systems.
You may have completed some projects at Uni and personal projects with Arduino or Raspberry Pi
