Are you someone that likes to work outdoors and get your hands dirty?

Working hard in a small team to deliver exceptional service to their customers, our client is looking to fill a vacancy, that for the right person could lead to an apprenticeship.

This locally owned business provides a range of drainage services including drain and pipe clearing, pipe laying and excavation work for commercial and residential properties. You will be working under the guidance of experienced drainage staff and occasionally will be required to work on your own.

Job Description:

  • General Labouring duties that include water blasting and gravel delivery.
  • Preparing ground by manually digging trenches for the installation of pipes on residential properties and in new subdivisions.
  • Measuring and cutting pipes.
  • Backfilling and compacting soil and gravel in trenches to complete the job.
  • Maintaining and clearing drains and wastewater systems.
  • Using CCTV equipment to diagnose problems and gather information to clear and lay new drains.

    Hours of Work: Monday-Friday - 7.30 am - 5.00 pm.

    Job Requirements:

    • Full Class 1 Driver's licence with the ability to use a manual gearbox.
    • Experienced using a range of hand-tools, such as shovels, spades and grubbers.
    • Physically fit - be able to handle a full day of manual work in all weather conditions.
    • Good communication skills along with a tidy appearance to portray a professional image to the owners and occupants of residential homes.

      Job Benefits:

      • Hourly rate $19.00 - $22.00 based on experience.
      • 40 plus hours per week.
      • Training in the use of hand tools, CCTV equipment and machinery.
      • Potential to gain an apprenticeship if suitable.

        To be eligible for this position you must be a New Zealand Citizen or Resident.
