Our Client is 100% Kiwi owned and operated, and has grown from humble beginnings to become New Zealand's biggest grocery distributor, and one of the country's largest organisations. Their Cold Storage warehouse here in Palmerston North caters to all the distribution of chilled and frozen goods to their customers in the Lower North Island.

The Role

We are seeking an individual with for a full-time role. No previous experience is required but is preferred. You will work in the dispatch department and have the following responsibilities throughout the day with your team:

• Cross-docking for fast delivery of perishable goods, consolidation for delivery, and deconsolidation for delivery.
• Using handheld scanners to scan pallets, and then match them with the truck they are to be loaded into for delivery.
• Forklift operation. Loading / unloading trucks, and general moving of pallets within the warehouse.
• Manual handling of boxes, lifting up to 20kg.
• Temperature in the warehouse chiller is 4c.

  This role is roughly a 50/50 split between forklift operation and being on the warehouse floor using handheld scanners.

  Days & Hours

  We have 2 different shifts available. See below:

  1. 4 x 10.5hr shifts each week. Consistent days. Sunday nights included, Saturdays NOT.
  2. 5 x 8.5hr shifts each week. Consistent days. Sunday nights included, Saturdays NOT.

     Negotiation is always open for the right candidate.

     Skills and Attributes

     • Experience in a warehouse environment in any capacity is preferred, but not essential.
     • Someone open to a long-term career in warehousing is ideal.
     • Someone looking for permanent employment is ideal.
