Job description

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced diesel automotive engineer to join a very busy workshop based in Te Puke.

We are looking for a person who is not afraid of hard work to join their team on a full time basis.

You will have the relevant mechanical qualifications and ideally some supervisory experience to bring to the team.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintenance and repair of plant and equipment - including but not limited to farming, orchard, irrigation plant, fork lifts, earthmoving equipment, trucks
  • Good diagnostic and fault finding skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised and able to lead by example
  • You will be versatile as no two days are the same
  • Get the job done right the first time

      The successful candidate will have the following:

      • Mechanical qualification - if you have experience in hydraulics, automotive electrical and fabrication skills these would be considered as added bonuses
      • Excellent work ethic - you need to be determined to learn and succeed
      • Minimum clean full class 1 licence - there is field work involved
      • Proven supervisory skills and able to lead by example
      • Be computer literate
      • Able to think on your feet - and have the confidence to make sound mechanical decisions
      • Happy to work varied hours

        All candidates will undergo a pre-employment drug screen, Ministry of Justice and ACC pre-employment checks.
