Job description

A reputably branded main contractor with a huge depth of construction expertise and project delivery history and are now looking for a high performing project manager. They are a Tier 2 Builder but with the backing of a Tier 1 contractor.  They have won an industrial job with a contract value of $20M plus a larger retail job and beyond that they are building momentum with future projects under tender.

Reporting into an Operations Manager, they are looking for a project manager with the ability to lead these complex projects. Being an expert in your field with a superior project performance history, you will lead the site team throughout project delivery.

Typical Duties:

 

·         Preparing programmes,

·         Forecasting, Budgets, managing costs and providing financial reporting

·         Driving the construction programme

·         Managing project performance including operation and resource requirements, risk management and reporting of performance

·         Adherence to OSH

·         Providing technical and contractual support

·         Team management and mentoring

·         Ensuring all documentation meets contractual, operational and statutory requirements

·         Quality management

·         Sub contractor, consultant and supplier management

 

 

Your background will include:

  • 10+ years previous Project Management delivering vertical projects in excess of $20M preferably in the NZ market
  • Tertiary and/or trade qualifications
  • Strong track record of delivering projects at a high quality and on time
  • Strong understanding of construction techniques
  • Excellent working knowledge of programming and reading plans
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to be proactive, graft through the challenges and handle a fast-paced working environment
