Job description
As a CNC operator you will take ownership of profile-cutting within our works and to produce and finish steel profiles efficiently.
The CNC plasma/oxyfuel cutter and support equipment is all brand new.
You will need to be reasonably fit and be able to work as part of a wide team including CNC machinists, warehousing staff, and production and quality personnel.
The primary tasks involve:
* Receiving the factory orders and nesting the work within the CNC controller.
* Loading and unloading plates, parts and remnants, after-finishing.
* Delivering profiles to the production centres.
* Maintaining steel-plate inventory, maintaining gas and consumables levels, and keeping a tidy and safe workplace in line with the rest of the factory.
Previous experience in an engineering or metals-manufacturing environment using electronic or NC/CNC controls would be beneficial.
The successful applicant will be highly motivated with attention to detail and quality driven.
You will have the ability to work to deadlines; be disciplined and committed; have a good understanding of numeracy, literacy and problem-solving skills; and have a positive attitude towards health and safety .
A pre employment drug test is required.
